@freya that is a good start - maybe people have just forgotten what a great name it is, and being one syllable will tick a lot of people's boxes.

I actually love Paul. It's my grandfather's middle name, and I would probably use it as a middle name in his honor. Barnaby Paul or Barnaby Viggo Paul has occurred to me. I just don't like the possibility of "Paulie" as a nickname up front. Pollock I like, because of the artist, but I fear that some people would hear it as a slur against polish people, Polak (not sure on the spelling)? I do agree with you though, it's a nice name that doesn't get enough attention, in any of its forms."I have found the one whom my soul loves"

There's a lot of things I like about Paul--including it's namesakes. I like it's warmth, it has a sound like breathing on your cold hands to warm them on a frosty night.
The thing that holds me back from really loving it is the round, soft sound combined with it's shortness--like ball or doll or haul. I prefer Saul for that reason, it just feels more distinctive.Olivia/Livia/Livy/Liv : Thessaly/Darah/Bethel : Noelle/Eve
