    Preppy Girls Names?

Anyone have suggestions for "preppy" girls names? Unisex names are fine. I've always loved the sound of the southern-type preppy names, so those are welcome too. Just looking for ideas. Thanks!

Interesting ... this seems like a tough one. When I think "preppy," I think a few things:

    1) Boys' names on girls. I greatly dislike this trend, so I will not further it by suggesting any here, but there it is.

    2) 80s names -- Paige, Chelsea, Lacey, Jessi/Jessica from pp's list, for example. Amanda, Brenda.

    3) Classic names -- Jane, Josephine from pp's list (I know a self-proclaimed "preppy" family that just named their daughter Josephine). Caroline/Callie, Elizabeth/Lizzy/Lissy.

    4) Surnames on girls. This also feel Southern to me, so maybe that's what you're looking for -- Callahan, Porter, Harper, Riley, Carter, James, etc. I'm terrible at thinking of names, but I'd bet there's a list of Surnames used on girls somewhere here on Nameberry. There must be. I feel like that will have a lot you like.

Hope this helps! I'd love to hear which ones struck your fancy, as it is a very broad and interesting category. Happy searching!

OH I LIKE THIS THREAD!!! Pretty much all the names listed make me think of people who would be vacationing in the Hamptons wearing Ralph Lauren (Which by Lauren DEFINITELY makes me think "preppy") Also Nicole, Heidi, Rachel, and Danielle... It's weird with me. I'm NOT a fan of boy NAMES for girls, but I love nn's that are boy names, like Charlotte nn Charlie, Francesca nn Frankie, things like that. Anyways, I am ALSO not usually a fan of Surname's as first names but I am for some reason REALLY loving catheyc's suggestion Callahan. Something about it I'm really loving!
