    Ha, those would have been my exact words; don't even get me started on the films.

    But to be fair I think from a more modern perspective Lolita has become a term in itself, taken out of the context of the novel. People hear Lolita and think sexual promiscuity, yes, but not paedophilia. There's 'Lolita Fashion' and I think it's a perfume now or something too. Dolores Haze isn't necessarily it's direct connotation.
