    Anna vs. Ana?

Although I find the name Ann/Anne plain, I do love the sound of Anna/Ana. I'm not sure of which spelling I prefer, though. Anna seems more feminine and frilly, while Ana seems a little rougher, more exotic, and less familiar. However, I'm also afraid that 'Ana' will forever have her name misspelled.

Also, I like most 'Anna/Ana' names in general. Here are a few of my favorites. Which spellings do you prefer?

    Annabell vs. Annabelle

    Anabell vs. Anabelle

    Annabeth vs. Anabeth

    Annalise vs. Analise

    Annamarie vs. Anamarie

Any other 'Ana/Anna' names that you like?

Most definitely Anna- Ana just looks unfinished. Anna is a beuitfully classic name, and does not need to be shortened ever.

    Annabell.

    Annabeth.

    Annalise

    Annamarie

    Other Anna names I like:

    Arianna
    Adrianna
    Avianna
    Hannah
    Julieanna
    Lilianna
    Oceanna
    Annabella

    Ana names I like:

Svetlana- because Svetlana Zakhorova is my favourite ballerina of all time (next to the great Anna Pavlova of course).

    Goodluck
    Crushing on...

    Eloise JuneauxAugust NathanielJuliet NoellePenn Alexander

Ophelia, Aveline, Cora, Rosalind and ThaliaEdmund, Arlo, Evander and Cedar

featheredwings- I do agree that Ana somehow looks unfinished but I think Anna is a little common, which is why I asked for the other 'Anna' names. My favorites that you suggested are: Arianna, Julieanna (though I prefer Julianna as a spelling, or Julie-Anna if you want the 'e'), and Avianna. I don't like Svetlana or Adrianna that much.

rainierloner- I also love Annabelle and Annabel, and Annabell as well. There are so many spelling possibilities!

I really adore most of the 'Ann' names but I hate to say that Ana just confuses me. I don't know if I should say 'Onna' or 'Anna, maybe its just a nickname and the person will get mad or something.

I really like Annabeth and Annalise but Annalise being spelled Annaliese.
