    Calling Dead Heads?

In college I dated a Cassidy (male) who was named after the Grateful Dead song, and after reading the story of how the song got it's name, I always thought it was an incredibly beautiful name. The Dead's lyrics have so much poetic imagery, and they're a hot-bed of interesting names, even for non-hippies.

Here are a few right off the top of my head. Any other Dead fans wanna play?

    Casey (Casey Jones)
Anne Marie (Friend of the Devil)
Magnolia (Sugar Magnolia... lots of flower names in this one, along with Sunshine)
    Jack, Shannon (Jack Straw)
    Bertha (Bertha)
Bonnie Lee, Pearl, August (Wharf Rat)
China (China Doll, China Cat Sunflower)

    Re: Calling Dead Heads?

I wrote this big long post about this topic, and then my friend called and I didn't hit post. Now my post is lost.
I despise the Grateful Dead, but my husband is a huge fan. He will be fascinated by this thread. When he gets home, I will show him this thread and he will think of a lot of Grateful Dead themed names. He wanted to name our son after Jerry Garcia! Blah! I would have never let that happen. We have some hideous G.D. posters down in the garage, but none in the house. I cannot bear to hear their music. But Kent wears Grateful Dead T-shirts sometimes, and I don't mind that. He has a little picture of Jerry playing the guitar on his desk. When I saw it, I turned it around backward. But soon it was turned the right way again.
