"unorthodox" names on another site
I'm a part of a gothic site (it's sort of like a gothic social media) and in the forums section, I found a thread titled "unorthodox baby names" and I just had to go through it. And now I have to share what people were talking about on there :P
I'll * my favorites (ones I actually like)
Here's some names mentioned along with interesting comments:
Alyce -- pronounced like Elise
Ruby Mercury -- sister to Thorn Apollo
Tanja Elise-- from Norway
Shiloh* -- but for a boy
Anna-Lucia Aurora Laura
Stacie Laishai -- apparently la-shay
Fia* -- but I do prefer Fiammetta
Aoife -- sister to Fia
Mina Raven* -- sister to Dorian Tobias and James Tristan
Falhn Angel -- Fallen Angel O_O He said it came from a short stories he used to write as a teen
Bloem, Zus and Mensje -- sister names mean "flower, sister, and something close to small human in Dutch" apparently
Selena Leanne -- sister to Walter Eugene with future brother Thor O_o. I should mention that this woman said "After Selena, I thought I'd stick with the Greek god theme, so we're going with Thor." O_O
Patience* -- as a middle. I used it for a boy in my book
Amadeaus, Phoenix*, Karizma and Divabella -- siblings
James Tristan* -- brothers (with Dorian) to Mina Raven
Reign Aikido Roose
Gabriel Link -- named after 2 video characters, but I don't know who Gabriel is
Anniken -- says it's common in Norway where they live
Cole* -- whose father wanted to name him Link or Hyrule
Teag Draven -- these three from Krue down to Teag are brothers with Skarlett and Gypsy
Fox* & Diesel
Thorn Apollo -- brother to Ruby Mercury
Cloud* -- GP
Braeydynn -- the comment "ridiculous. His F-ing name is still Braden" made me laugh
Comments that were funny:
"I wouldn't say it's unethical to name a child Bella, Edward, etc. Those are real names and five years from now when twilight's been completely forgotten by anyone that's actually going to breed, Edward will just be seen as a kind of nice traditional English name"
"The problem is, a person who's going to name their child Nevaeh Yooneek Vodka Juicy Couture, isn't exactly the type of person who does a lot of research about anything."
After the name Dasani came up -- "I'll name my kids Evian, Aquafina, Dasani and Perrier. "

Divine Faith and Faithful Christian are a bit much even for this believer!
Dakota-Blue sounds like a state is bleeding to death and needs help! (Code Blue)
Reign Aikido Roose sounds like a Japanese cartoon character/video game.
Bloem, Zus and Mensje are a little cheesy.
Faelyn - it's Faolan or Phelan. All the best,
