    Strong Irish name

    We are due with a little girl in a few days. We want a strong, unique Irish name. Not opposed to unisex names. The middle name will be Eleanore. Right now we have Rowan or Maeve as our top 2. Any other suggestions?

    From your top two I would definitely say go for Maeve Eleanore. Maeve is a name that is feminine, while still being extremely strong. I know that Rowan is getting more widely used for girls, but for me it's a boy name, but if you really like it then use it.

    The only other suggestion that I have is Deirdre. Good luck in choosing the perfect name for your little one!

    I love Maeve. I don't really consider Rowan an Irish name. Some more:

    Mairin
    Quinlan (Quin as a nn)
    Aoife (Ee-fuh)
    Caitlin
    Bridget
    Clare
    Eilish
    Moira
    Tara
    Shannon

    And my #1 on the list for girls: Erin!
    * Eleanor "Ellie" * Maeve * Caroline * Mary * Grace * Sophie * Stella *

    * James * Henry * Paul * Owen * Emmett *
