    Any you'd use IRL?

I tend to use obscure/rare/etc names in my novels. I took a look at my NaNo novel names and decided I'd post seeing what others though and if they would use them IRL. I posted here because it's a "would any of these actually work IRL" question instead of "what do you think of my book names"

    Real name:

Arvan -- boy --horse, friend of the people
    Crisipo -- boy --golden horse
Okan -- boy --resembling a horse
Delano -- boy -- dark, of the night, from the alder grove
Zosio -- boy --One who is wise
Atoc -- boy -- Sly as a fox (also known as Sly)
Savian -- boy -- soap maker (also known as Bodkin)
Chernobog -- boy -- Chernobog was the Slavic god of darkness, evil and grief.
Erin -- on a boy but typically a girl -- Irish woman :P
Averil -- girl -- boar-like in battle, April (also known as Honey)
    Fiametta -- girl --fire, flame
Catima -- girl --one who is innocent
    Kiona -- girl --light, diety

Word names I'm using as firsts. Would you use any (first or middle)?

    Glory -- girl
    Puzzle -- boy
    Honey -- girl
    Sly -- boy
    Bodkin -- boy
    Gentry -- girl
    Silver -- boy
    Wilder -- boy
    Darken -- boy
    Talon -- boy
    Solace -- girl

Arvan - very close to my nephew's name, so I wouldn't use it for that reason, but it's a lovely name
Crisipo - sounds like an Italian brand for crisps, so no
Okan - Nothing wrong with it, but wouldn't use it
    Delano -
    Zosio - very cool.
Atoc -- boy -- Sly as a fox (also known as Sly)
Savian - it does sound like a soap
Chernobog - no I wouldn't use it because he was truly a terrible and horrific and super evil God. He makes me shudder the same way Morgoth does, or almost.
    Erin - on a girl it's cute
    Averil - cute
Fiametta - I would, yes. Lovely, prefer it with two m's though, but Fiametta reminds me of The Flame of Love.
Catima - Cat ad Ima, what's not to love?
    Kiona - quite pretty

Word names I'm using as firsts. Would you use any (first or middle)?

    Glory - no
Puzzle - haha, this is cute, but no
Honey - yes, because honey and bees are special to me
    Sly - nope
    Bodkin - no no no
    Gentry - no
Silver - yes, on either gender
    Wilder - yes
    Darken - no
Talon - I like birds of prey, so maybe?
    Solace - yes

Ottilie, your reaction to Bodkin was funny. I'd never use that one either IRL. They get names based on their jobs (and if you're reading my blog, you'll have met Bodkin by now) so he teaches fighting and he fights with a Bodkin. :P She has a misericorde so maybe I should code name her misericorde :P

And Chernobog is the evil king who sold his daughter into slavery and his children are Glory, Solace, Talon, Wilder, and Darken. It fits.

Puzzle has the wolf ears and he's missing one so it makes him look puzzled all the time :P

I suppose I should put which I'd actually use or like to see used:

Arvan -- no but Van is a nice nn
Crisipo -- it does sound like a cracker :P
Okan -- no but there's nothing wrong with it
Delano -- Love to see it used
Zosio -- Yes. Zo is a cool nn
    Atoc -- no
Savian -- no but there's nothing wrong with it
Chernobog -- No! Even though Neil Gaiman uses it
Erin -- I wouldn't use it but it's fine on either gender to me
    Averil -- I wouldn't use it but it's pretty
    Fiametta -- yes
Catima -- I'd love to see this used with Cat or Kitty as a nn
    Kiona -- yes

Word names I'm using as firsts. Would you use any (first or middle)?

Glory -- yes or Gloriana nn Glory
Puzzle -- I find this adorable but I wouldn't use it
Honey -- not as a first name
Sly -- I prefer Todd as a fox name and Sly would make a real name IRL
    Bodkin -- NO
Gentry -- no because it's sort of like princess, but if it were used, Gen/Jen is a good nickname
Silver -- no but I'd like to see it used
    Wilder -- yes
Darken -- maybe as a middle
Talon -- no, but it's cool enough
Solace -- yes! She's in a combo of ours

Solace is so beautiful. I'm glad you might use it! Angel, I did indeed start reading your novel but I'm suffering from pregnancy brain so it doesn't get done as fast as I'd like. I'm also reading Ren's novel. At the moment these are the only books I read...

I also see I skipped a few up there but the answer to all three are no.
