Variations on family names for the middle spot

DH and I are going to give our new baby girl a middle name to honor a family member. For our family keeping the first sound/first initial is enough. Help us think of variations! We have three starter to work with: Joan, Cecilia and Agnes. I've gotten much farther on variations for Joan than for the other two.

    Joan
    Jane
    June
    Johanna
    Josephine
    Juno
    Joanna
    Joanne
    Jeanne
    Janet

    Cecilia
    Celia

    Agnes

Of the names we've thought of so far, I love Jane (good family friend, Jane Eyre, Jane Austen-it's smart and feminine), June, and Cecilia. I'm still keeping my eye out for related names that match with our short list of firsts. And I'm guessing there are good variations of Cecilia and Agnes that I haven't thought of.

To get those juices flowing, I picture our daughter sitting on a branch of a tree wearing dirty overalls, reading a book that looks way to big for her. The kind of tomboy that the boys suddenly realize is gorgeous, in addition to being really fun to ride bikes with. Smart, stubborn, strong, imaginative, physically coordinated.

DH and I have very different taste in names, but we're both looking for names that are: clearly feminine (we dress our girls in gender neutral clothes most of the time but aren't trying to raise a genderless kid), familiar but not common and spelled correctly.

Agatha is all i can think of for Agnes. However, Catherine shares a meaning with Agnes :-)

    Ooh! Thanks!

Cecily was on my list of first names, but I didn't think of it as a Cecilia variation!
Agatha is intriguing. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but it does have a strong feel to it.

Augusta, Augustine and August are definitely worth thinking about. They might do well with some of the shorter first names on our list.

    Cecile is a great addition!

Hmmmm.... Now, do any of them go with Rosemary, Iris or Eve?

    Rosemary June
    Rosemary Cecile

    Iris Cecilia

Iris Cecily -- I love this, but think DH will hate it
    Iris Jane
    Iris Johanna
    Iris Josephine

Eve Augusta -- again, I love this, but think DH will hate it
    Eve Johanna
    Eve Josephine
Eve Joanne -- this is DH's preference
    Eve Cecily
    Eve Cecilia
