if your name is Stone, I'd avoid it. Otherwise, Rosetta is adorable.

I don't see anything negative about Rosetta, and as for the Rosetta Stone program, that wont be around forever, people will forget all about that, also who's to say people will link the association anyway? Is Rosetta Stone really THAT well known? i personally don't think it is. I don't see it as a potential for teasing, I'm with you, I think it sounds kind of mysterious and interesting.

Actually, my first glance at Rosetta reminds me of Rosetta the garden fairy from the Tinkerbell movies! I think most children would make that connection. It's a lovely name, anyway. The only negative thing I've heard about the Rosetta Stone is that apparently the Japanese program isn't worth it or something similar to that. I love the name!

The Rosetta Stone is a slab of granite that helped modern-day scholars understand Egyptian hieroglyphics. There's no negative connotation, but naming your child after something so obvious seems odd. Rosetta is a cute name, but if your surname is Stone, I'd definitely avoid.

It'd be like naming your child Eiffel Tower or Sydney Harbour.

And, yeah, the Rosetta Stone is well known amongst people with a basic level of general knowledge.
