    Alcyone

Is this firmly in the guilty pleasure zone or a quirky middle name choice?

I've just discovered Alcyone recently and I'm really starting to like it.. My top name combinations are family names with classic names I like and I have been thinking of adding quirkier names in the middle such as to spice up the combinations.

Alycone is from Greek Mythology and is pronounced al-SIE-ə-nee.

Well I know two "Halcion"s (spelling variation of Halcyon) that were born decades apart.
Both names are similar and from the same legend so why not?
I had no idea about the "Halcyon days" when I met Halcion.

I've never heard of Halcyon days. For anyone interested in the myth behind the name:

Ellie Goulding named her album "Halcyon" and its re-release "Halcyon Days" so that was when I read up on the legend of Alcyone and Ceyx with their transformation into the Halcyon birds. Simply because I had a friend named Halcion and I was intrigued to find out where her name came from, I asked her about it after and even she herself was ignorant of her names origins.

Oh, I know about her album. I thought there was a special set of days for Halcyon or something.

I'd love to hear more opinions please!
