As a teacher, I have had multiple students named Luke and Lucas. Most of the Lukes had Luke as their full name, and most of the Lucas' didn't go by Luke. Some may assume, but if you only introduce him as Luke, people probably will just go with it.

I have a cousin named Luke and he gets mistaken for Lucas occasionally, but not all that often. Luke is a fine name by itself.

I have known several Lukes and I do not recall anyone thinking any of their names were Lucas. Luke is a strong, handsome boy name.

I've never met a Lucas, but I know a couple of Lukes. I also prefer Luke. Maybe it's because I've never met one, but I wouldn't assume Luke was Lucas - I would probably be surprised if he was.

Yes i agree with this. Luke is Luke and Lucas is Lucas. I have never met a Lucas thats nick named Luke, and vise-versa.
