    843 i crazy?

The only place I've ever heard this as a fist name is on Hocus Pocus.

But its still kind of growing on me. What do you think of this as a first name? Is it pretentious? What nickname options are there aside from "Thack"?

If you met a guy named Thackeray what would you expect about him based on his name?

I'm not a fan. It really sounds like you would be trying to hard

I really got interested in Thackeray after reading "Vanity Fair", so I associate it as a literary name. It fits in with the surname trend, but is reminiscent of Zachery. I think it could work!

I'm just a third-culture girl with an affinity for names.

    In loving memory of Margot

Thackeray was the name of the registration building where I did my undergrad. I think as a child's name it does sound a little pretentious. I feel like it would end up being "Thackeray Frederick Reginald Trevelyan the Third" or something equally annoying. I could see it becoming a popular hipster name, as well, because it's so pretentious and obscure

I'd say it's a name made famous by William Makepeace Thackeray. I think it's quite nice actually. Nicknames...Hank? Huck? Thatch? I don't know, I can't think of any others!
