    Exclamation Let's Talk About Cordelia!

    I'm going through my list and would really love to hear individual thoughts on the names I adore, but haven't quite made my short list.

    What are your general thoughts on Cordelia?
    How do you pronounce Cordelia?
    What would you name siblings of Cordelia?

    Previous Names: Madeleine, Louisa, Katarina.

    Thanks, Berries!

    As you can see from my signature, Cordelia is one of my favourite names. It's gorgeous, elegant, strong, rarely used and Shakespearean (though she isn't my favourite character). Anne of Green Gables fans will remember it fondly too. I pronounce it somewhere between cor-DEE-lee-ah and cor-DEEL-ee-ah. Personally I think Cordelia, Portia and Sebastian would be a gorgeous sibset. Kit Pearson wrote a YA novel (An Earthly Knight) with a sibset named Sebastian, Rosalind (Roz), Cordelia (Corrie), Harry, Juliet and Orlando (Orly). I still think that's one of the best sibsets I've ever heard.

    Boys: Fitzwilliam, Sebastian, Percival, Prospero, Orlando, Darcy

    I absolutely adore Cordelia. I too get an Anne of Green Gables vibe, which I love. I think it's underused and elegant, and easily recognisable.
    I pronounce it Kor-DEE-lee-ah (four distinct syllables).
    I have long pondered siblings to Cordelia. I've thought of:
    Lysander (although this gives off a strong Shakespeare vibe; but I can't help loving it!)
    Gabriel
    Theodore
    Evander
    August(us)
    Frederick

    Emmeline
    Penelope
    Guinevere
    Matilda
    Harriet
    Felicity
    Beatrice
    Imogen
    Helena (with these last three girls names, there's again a Shakespearean element.. dammit, he had such great names!)
    I'm 19 with a furbaby named Frederick

    * Beatrix * Clementine * Penelope * Seraphina *

    * Theodore * Hugo * Caspian * Arthur * Lysander *

    Cordelia is a very beautiful name. I pronounce it "Core-deel-ee-uh". There are many names that would be amazing for siblings.
    Penelope, Annabelle, Amelie, May, Isobel, Catherina, Abigail, and so many more.

    I LOVE Cordelia! I'm honestly surprised that it's not more popular than it is. For a while, my crush was Iris Cordelia or Cordelia Iris... I couldn't decide which.

    Cordelia is somewhere between core-DEEL-ya and core-DEE-lee-uh. I think I say it as core-DEEL-ee-uh.

    Matilda would be a great sister for Cordelia. I'm not sure about boys.
    Current favorites:
    Cora . Louisa . Lydia . Mary
