    Let's talk about Eliska!

Moving on to the next crush.

How do we feel about Eliska? What sort of person would you imagine with the name? I feel like I'm on the fence with this one--I adore it, in all its Czech/Eastern European glory; it's spunky; it's feminine; it's unexpected. I like the nn Ella, or just Eliska in full, but sometimes I worry it's too exotic/Czech for the rest of my list--and that I love way too many forms of Elizabeth. Isabelle is already my top choice for a girl; I don't see that changing, and with potentially Lillian being on my list as well, isn't it Elizabeth overkill? I'd never thought I'd use more than one form of Elizabeth, and Isabelle, Lillian, and Eliska are certainly distinct, but it seems so repetitive. But she's so cute!

le sigh. I'm torn. I even have a partial combo (Eliska Genevieve) picked out, but I just don't know if I could actually pull the trigger. I've loved it for years, though. Any other Eliska-lovers out there? Would you use it?

    Thanks, ladies!

Eliska is beautiful, especially in combination with Genevieve. But I don't think I'd use it because of pronunciation issues (I'm a really scaredy-conservative namer, though!). Ultimately, if it truly speaks to your heart, use it!

If I met an Eliska, I'd frisk her and pull her whiskers.
It is a fun one. Could be nice in a sister-set with Tess and Catherine nn Kit. Not sure about the boys... Asher and Eliska? Jack and Eliska? No no. Not meshing with your boy names.

Eliska and Samuel or Eliska and Zane would be would be good though.

I love Eliska, it's pretty with a dash of spunk. I also really like Juliska, although Eliska feels slightly classier to me

Oooh, I like! I don't think I've really heard of it before. Definitely like it, it is charming and kind of feels like a slightly more accessible Saskia. Almost feels Shakespearean, too. Funky, yet dignified. I think it's too close to Elisa for me to use (bad associations).
