I have a hard time believing that a hospital has the authority to hold you and your child against your will without any medical reason. Anyway, I like Archer. Ridge, Canyon, and River also came to mind.

Personally I'd pick Hunter or Archer. I also like Brock and Chase. A couple of other possibilities: Caine, which apparently means "spear hunter"; Holt (this also gets points for a Canadian connection.... Holt Renfrew!)

For a Canuck name, I'd suggest checking out the names of former Prime Ministers.... A lot of Bays, lakes, and rivers with interesting names to consider.... Hudson, James, etc. Lorne was also a great suggestion.
