    Thanks for the replies. I think I'll take the advice of asking some Jewish people in real life. So far asked one person who said it's totally fine.
    I probably won't change his name, since it's HIS name now.. it would be too confusing for everyone.

    I wouldn't change his name. I know a 5-year-old boy with this name. I think it is fine. You shouldn't worry so much!!

    PS. Changing the spelling won't change the name. I wouldn't bother.

    I agree with this. You weren't aware that it might be offensive, and you gave your child a name you loved. I feel that being offended is a choice, and if someone chooses to be offended that is not your fault.
