How would you react to Vesper?

What do you think of the name? I know people associate it with Vespas but it has a lot more meaning for me and I really like it. I don't think that association is that negative. There's also the Bond association, but I don't really think so many people will recognize or remember that. And for those who do, I think it's kind of neat.

I always hesitate before telling people it's one of my favourite choices because it's rare and I'm not sure how weird.

What do you think? I like to think it's unusual and uncommon but not weird.

    Thoughts?! Be gentle!

I love Vesper, and have since I first saw Casino Royale. I really don't think the Bond association is that bad. Eva Green is a beautiful actress, and plays a strong character.

It was the heroine of a favourite kids' book series (think Nancy Drew meets Indiana Jones) I loved when I was little - the unflappably brave and cheerfully capable Vesper Holly!

    I like it.

I like that it means "evening" and I like -er names that *aren't* occupational. I'm not a fan of Piper/Harper etc. but I like Esther, Demeter, Briar, etc.

I love it. It is beautiful and I especially like the prayer association. I was considering it for my daughter but decided against it because of the James Bond thing, I didn't want everyone to think I named my child after a movie character.

Not a fan. It just sounds wispy and aspy and unpleasant.
