Anil's Ghost, and The English Patient, both by Michael Ondaatje. I love pretty much everything he's written, though.

The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton - My absolute Favorite
The Tea Rose Trilogy- 2nd Fav.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
My Sister's Keeper (Nothing like the movie, by the way) - Jodi Picoult
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
The Kitchen House - Kathleen Grisholm

As for more young adult novels I really liked the Hunger Games and The "Great and Terrible Beauty" Trilogy. I also enjoyed "The Luxe" series. Its like a 19th century gossip girl.

Ooh, OP, I love The Giver as well! I think my absolute favorites have to be Les Miserables and Fahrenheit 451.
Not expecting, just planning and building lists!
