Stuck on a name and a nickname

So I love the name Theodore, but mostly because I picture calling a little boy Theo. My husband does not like Theo, but likes Theodore. We cant agree and we cant come up with anything else we like. What do people think? How would naming a baby Theodore turn out?
Or any other names like that folks might suggest?

I like Theo a lot, more than Theodore, but would insist his full name be Theodore for nickname options, especially for the child's sake and preference, social issues.
    Ted
    Teddy
    Leo
    Other names and nn options:
August/Augustus NN options: Austin, Guster, Gus, Gust
Demetrius/Dimitri nn options: Mit, Merit*love this, Meteor *joking but would use it as a nn at home b/c it's funny*
    Sebastian: Sean, Ian*love Ian, Stan
Nathaniel: Nate, Nathan, Neil, Ian, Daniel
Giovanni: Ian, Gio,*this is so cute and rough and tough for a little boy imo* Van, Vani(vaw-knee) Oan(owen)
Orlando: Land, Landon, Lando, Rand, Rando
Alexander: Alex, Land, Landon, Andy, Xane(zane), Xander, Zander, Lexan, Al, Alan

If you both like Theodore, go for it!!!! You can call him Theo and your husband can call him Teddy or Leo, or who knows, another nickname might pop up too!!!! I love the name Teddy, it's so cute for a little guy but I also think it ages well.

Or you can call him Theo and your husband can call him Theodore.
    I think that works fine.
    Good Luck!

I think the disagreement about the nn could be a bigger deal than it seems like now in the long run. I would probably not use it.

    Edward nn Ned or Ted
Thaddeus nn Thad Or Tad or Ted
    Dalton nn Dalt
    Dexter nn Dex
    Dasheill nn Dash
    Leopold nn Leo
    Donovan nn Van
