    Sawyer? Boy or girl association?

Hi everyone. Just wondering what everyone's honest opinion is on the name Sawyer? We originally had it picked as our unisex name but then found out we are having a baby boy! Husbands family keeps saying they associate it as a girly name. Has anyone else heard this? I only associate it with Sawyer from Lost who was very attractive and rugged and Tom Sawyer I know people are starting to use it as a girls name but hoping it becomes more like Taylor unisex rather than Ashley or Courtney which are obviously more popular female names now.

Congrats on your little boy! Sawyer is definitely not a girly name. It's all boy to me. I know one little Sawyer and he is a very cute, very active little boy. Sawyer is more popular for boys on the SSA list too.

I agree, definitely think of it as a boys name more than a girls name. Also my high school gym teacher had a little boy named Sawyer.
