Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder: Boys
I have always liked classic or old fashioned names for first names and more obscure ones for middle names. I've gone through the entire BehindTheName database, threads on Nameberry and I've run out of names I like!
Please give me your honest opinions on each one and rate the top ten.
All of these names are for the middle only. Any suggestions are welcome.
Serafin / Seraphin
This is the girls thread:

Nemberry's a bit weird with the genders sometimes .
Alaric - strong, heroic, the king of the Visigoths. Like this very much.
Augustin - It looks weird without the -e, but it's a fine name even so. I've never been crazy about it, but it's nice.
Basile - Makes me think of Bastille.
Basil - Love this, so fun, funky, weird, bookish and detectivelike.
Conrad - Great name, doesn't get enough love.
Gideon - Yup yup, Gideon's a nice name. I like it, it feels very grown up. Not sure I can see a toddler named Gideon...
Henrik - Love! Henrik's a great name.
Leonidas - Love with a very long o-sounds. Leonidas is very sexy and brooding.
Leopold - Love with even more o's than above. Leopold's fun, knightly, dashing, big smiles and rolling laughter.
Lucian - Beautiful, and Freud-ish. Mwahaaha!
Malcolm - Eh, it makes me think of something unpleasant. But I would be rather excited to meet a baby Malcolm.
Pascal - Pretty and French and Easter.
Ptolemy - Fantastic! I think of telescopes and stuff.
Phineas - Fun, dashing, like a nerdy Leopold.
Philippe - I'd be on board with plain old Philip, or Felipe!, but Philippe seems so whiny to me.
Perseus - Love!!!!! Lovely name.
Peregrin - Wohooo, without the -e. Tolkien fan? Love me some Pippin!
Pascal - You really love this one, huh? Or is the double inclusion an accident?
Serafin / Seraphin - I like Serafin fine, but I prefer Serafim. Sounds more romantic and dashing.
Tarquin - The most evil horrible terrible cruel rapist ever. His rape of Lucretia was the start of the downfall of Rome.
Truman - Meh. Seems boring to me. And I think of the movie.
Percival seems like a name you'd like. For me little Percival and Leopold goes hand in hand.

I like both Augustin and Augustine, but the problem I have with Augustine is that the spelling with - e can be either the girls name or boys name. Augustin is firmly masculine.
Oops! I didn't notice I posted Pascal twice. Total accident. I really do love the Felipe spelling too. I completely forgot to add it. I love Perseus, but I just can't get on board with Percival. I don't like the -val part of it.
Serafim - This was originally on the list, but I've not quite sure how the -fim is pronounced. Feem or Fim(rhymes with him)?
I like Damien, but I worry about the Omen connection.
