Shayla, Shannon, Jocelyn, and Annika. Nothing too terrible, but none of these names appeal to me anymore

I thought Afrique, as in the French word for Africa, was the most beautiful name I had ever heard. It was only when my sister pointed out to me that it sounded like I was saying "a freak" that it became less attractive.

I was just thinking about this because I ran into some old journals while cleaning out our storage unit.

When I was about 7 - 8 my favorite names were:

    Makayli
    Kandyce
    Lyndsi
    Hillaree
    Emilee
    Alexya

    Jayden
    Camden

If I had been a teen mom, my kids would have been either Neferet Orchid Moon for a girl or Anubis Alexei for a boy. I was really into Ancient Egypt at the time. Not horrible I guess. I still like Neferet and I resecued a dog that we called Anubis. Oddly enough, I think my name tastes are actually more tame now.

Oh how I loved the name Kelly for a girl! I also had secret name crushes I never told anyone like Temple and Isis. This was the early 60's so I loved the name Jennifer. I thought it was sooo old-fashioned and different!! Good thing I didn't have kids until my 30's.

I also recall loving Fate Alfonso (still love Alfonso) and Dusk Odysseus for a boy and Peony Othella and Promise Eden at some point.
