I love the name Finch, but for a boy. Its a surname but with the nn option of Fin.
Lark is really awesome; I read a book where the heroine was named Larka! Alouette is another bird, and I always thought that was a darling name. Rain also reminds me of Lark, which I both picture as peaceful and serene.
Other names with the same feel as Lark:
Yarrow- river and also an herb(?)
Winona- A Souix name that has a flowing, peaceful, musical sound to it.
Waverly- meadow of quivering aspens... seriously beautiful meaning.
Pella- form of harsher/stronger Petra, which means "rock".
Iona (I prefer the pronounciation eye-OWN-ah, but the Greek, ee-OH-nah is just as pretty)
Bernadette- "brave as a bear"
Sunniva- "sun gift", but the musical vowels are a plus!
Tamsin- form of Thomas, meaning "twin".
Calliope- musical, just like a bird!
Eulalie- musical still, "sweet speaking". Edgar Allen Poe (writer of The Raven--another bird!) wrote a poem, addressed "To Eulalie".
Talia- "gentle dew from the heaven" gorgeous!
Llewellyn- originates as a boy's name but its so feminine to me. "resembling a lion", cool meaning too.I'm so indecisive; one day I love a name, the next I'm not so sure anymore.
