    Rosemarie nn Roxie?

    Looking for some input -

I love the nickname Roxie - it's fun, feminine, and full of sass.

Is it reasonable to use Roxie as a nickname for Rosemarie?

I'm afraid not on its own, because the "x" sound doesn't appear at all in the name. But perhaps if her middle name did (Rosemarie Lux, for example) Roxie could be applicable.
Then again, I know a Sarah Jane who goes solely by Sadie, so whatever works. It just feels a bit forced to me, personally.

I think it works. It's not intuitive but then neither is someone going by their middle name.

I agree that it would make more sense if you opted for a middle name containing x, but I don't actually think its necessary. Nicknames are really quite a gray area. My sister had a good friend named Nicole who went by Bob for a period of her life.
