Thread: Which one do you like best?
September 12th, 2013 06:50 PM #6
Violet. I like Violetta as a frilly GP, but I doubt I'd ever use it, and while I appreciate the Frenchness of Violette, I don't really like the sound of it for an actual name (vee-oh-LET), and it bothers me that most Americans don't even try to pronounce it correctly--and most people who like it don't even seem to care about pronouncing it correctly, either. It's not the same as Violet, but most Americans just lump it in the same boat with it. :/
I adore Violet, though--feminine, with just enough frill to make it totally girly, vintagey, sweet, and it has ties to my favorite color. I would love to meet a Violet, and I'd love to have a Violet!Ashley | namenerd | Christian | storyteller

Thinking about Rhys Absalom and Sebastian Harbor Amias and Anneliese "Annie/Liesey" (if only I could find a combo!) and Lucia Charlotte today.
