Names spotted recently
I follow a baby-name blog, where the author writes about bad baby names she sees in newspaper announcements. I love it, because not only is her commentary hilarious, but usually the people in the comments will "out" their friends and family members who have chosen some wtf-worthy names. I was reading over her old posts again and thought I'd share some of the ones that made me laugh out loud.
Some of these are names that were given to actual children, others are ones people listed as their favorite names that they're saving for future children:
**And before someone accuses me of bullying a child based on their name...I have no idea who these kids are. I'm sure they're lovely little angels. If I met them I'd treat them like any other kid. That doesn't mean their names aren't horrible.
Abcyde (pronounced ab-sidy)
Tab, Bentley, Paisley, and Hobbes. A sib-set.
Paije (pronounced Paige, I assume)
Bringit (I have no idea how this would be pronounced)
Jax'n and Link'n. Another sib-set.
Tytan (m) and Tossee (f). A sib-set.
Morrison (m), Pressley (m), Hendrix (f), Zykah (m), Axlynn (f), and Marley (f). Some are siblings, some are cousins.
Qak (pronounced "Zack")
Kirye (this one came with the commentary that the mother intended it to be pronounced Ka-Rye and can't figure out why no one "gets" it)
Aspyn Annah (say it fast)
Xtyllyn (pronounced Crystal-lyn)
Cabela Hunter (one girl's first and middle - named after the hunting/fishing supply store)
Nixon, Cruz, Matix, Hurley. Another sib-set.
Burdyn (poor girl)
And my personal favorite: A brother and sister named Kyler and Tylee...mom and dad's names are Kylee and Tyler.

Oh, gross. They're all terrible! What is wrong with some people?
Luckily I've never met a really badly named child in real life before (apart from standard misspellings such as Madysyn etc). If I did, I'm afraid I'd probably be rude and say something to their parents!TTC #1

My niece is Paisley, and we love the name. It jumped in Iowa from 100 to #34 in a single year.
Maybe not the greatest sib set, but still a nice name.
most of these seem like jokes. And if they aren't, those poor kids.Mom to Weston Christopher, b. 2008
