    Having an issue.

There are SO many uncommon/underused/rare girls names I love, but I'm really scared of saying them to anyone, because when I discussed a few with my mum and sister, I got outright laughed at, and just about all (minus Imogen, Ophelia + Marcheline) were mocked. Now I'm scared of even mentioning them, let alone using them one day. Would any of these be picked on/mocked if they were names of children now?

Some are actually pretty normal names. For example Adelaide, Beatrice, Rowena, Olive, Juliet, Margot, Bronwen, Bronte, Nancy, Nellie, Elinor, Vivienne, Clementine and Soraya are totally normal. I know a Saorise, Soraya, Rowena, and an Adelaide. None of them are mocked.

Nellie is nicknamey for me, and I dislike Dulcie (but adore Dulcea!), the rest is fine. Those are pretty names, btw.
Call me Cynthia, Angie, or Luna. 22. Name nerd.

I think it's a fabulous list. I'm not planning on kids for a few more years, but when it's time, I'm probably only discussing names with my soon-to-be DH. I like a combination of 'normal' names and uncommon names, and once the baby is born and named, THEN he/she will be introduced. Come to nameberry to chat if you like names beyond the most, most common. :-)
    Current loves:
    Opal | Saffron
    Winslow | Hopper
