    Hyphenated names: E+W statistics (girls)

I was curious and decided to do some research into hyphenated names with the 2012 England and Wales statistics, as it seems that certain names get heard everywhere. Only names given to 3 or more children are listed, so there's probably more combinations out there, but here's what the stats say.

Also came across Umm-E-Hani and Umm-E-Habiba/Umme-Habiba, which I don't know if it should be classed as a double-barrelled name or a legitimate Arabic (?) name with the hyphens included. Same goes for Noor-Ul-Ain.

    Anna Katherine * Lydia Ellen * Zoe Madeleine * Phoebe ___ * Imogen ___ * Emilia ___
    Samuel * Thomas * Charlie * Reuben * Oliver * George

This is my friend's middle name. It means 'summer' in Welsh. Her first isn't Seren though.

My beautiful in Italian is Bella Mia. I'm pretty sure most parents just thought it was cute, but it Mia Bella is very close to the Italian affectionate phrase.

*In the US, there are many names that are smoosh names. Hyphenating is considered rather dated I believe, but we have Miabella (142), Bellamarie (30), Sophiamarie (22), Annakate (15), Ellamarie (14), Lilyrose (16), Annamae (31- but could be an English phonetic spelling of anime). Also, there's the whole "add -lynn or -leigh to make a super yewnike name", with Hazelyn (11), Hopelyn (9), Jazlyn (464), Rayleigh (128), Jayleigh (97) and who knows what else.

Combining some of those spellings would change those stats a bit too. Like Jai, Jae, Jay and J (God x_x) can all be classed as one. That puts May above Rose I think.

    -May: 324
    -Rose: 198
    -Leigh: 143
    -Ray: 79
    -Louise: 77
    -Jane: 76
    -Ann: 60
    -Grace: 58
    -Marie: 50
    -Jo: 27
    -Lily: 27
    -Jade: 19
    -Jay 15
    -Belle: 9
    -Faith: 6
    -Beau: 6
    -Sue: 5
    -Brooke: 4
    -Elizabeth: 3
    -Ella: 3
    -Jean: 3
    -Anna: 2
    -Bella: 2
    -Blu: 2
    -Kate: 2
    -Ellen: 2
    -Skye: 2
    -Summer: 2
