Ooh, water names! I had a Sim once who named all her sons after British rivers: Clyde, Trent, Don, Cam and Taff.
Nereus - a sea god, often known as the Old Man of the Sea
Pontus - another sea god, father of Nereus
Glaucus - fisherman who became a sea god
Cetus - Latin for 'whale'
I think I would play with these to invent my own name, eg. Nerian, Cetan, because merpeople probably have their own naming traditions and would not be happy stealing names directly from the Greeks.

If I need names by meaning, I go to behindthenames.com for their names sorted by meaning lists. Here is the link for their 'watery names list' Behind the Name: Watery Names
you can filter out the gender and origin. I hope that helps.
The only names I have on my own list that have watery meanings are:
Kai- Hawaiian name meaning the sea
Zale- a name of Greek origins meaning sea strength
