Thread: Ophelia vs Cordelia
August 21st, 2013 08:09 PM #21I loved her not for the way she danced with my angels but for the way the sound of her name could silence my demons.~ Christopher Poindexter.

Cordelia is one of my favourite names! Beautiful, elegant, feminine and strong. Ophelia is a nice name too, with a more dramatic sound, but she seems a bit wispy. Character-wise I prefer Cordelia because she stood up for what she believed in while Ophelia just bowed to the demands of everyone around her.~Love names, literature, royals and horses~ <3

In general, I like Ophelia more. I find it more open and gorgeous and striking and just all around beautiful. However, I usually stick it in the MN spot, because I don't like it's nns. If I could find a nn I liked for it, though, I would for sure prefer it as a FN! I don't love Cordelia so much as a FN (although I think it's gorgeous in the middle!), but I'd be more likely to use it up front, because it at least had a nn I like (Cora; although Delia is nice, as well!).Lise
