Female Great Dane coming home soon! :)

Hello Berries. My brother will be getting a female great dane puppy later this week! We are all so excited to meet her. He is not great at names and asked me to help him think of names. The puppy will likely be black but could be a merle. My brother wants a name fitting to the regalness of what is soon to be this massive, beautiful dog. Ideas we have so far are:

    Nike
    Athena
    Echo
Gloria (my brothers favorite... I think because of the alliteration of Gloria the Great Dane)

can you think of any other "exulted" names?

    Thank you!
    My ever-changing top names -
Girls: Mabel, Primrose (Posey), Orchid, Eden, Idella
Boys: Arthur, Theodore, Winston, Truman, Alastair

I've read that dogs respond better to shorter names so I will suggest one or two-syllabled options. I think regal names would work but also some Northern European names, vintage names, word names and nicknames as well. Of course, your choice really depends on the dog's personality. Your dog may be sociable or shy, energetic or lazy or even more human than some people!

Thanks so much Mischa for the suggestions. It was very helpful to get an idea of what kind of name my brother liked. I loved your suggestions of sybil and Daphne. I think my brother has decided on Dottie for his new little* girl. (Dorothy as her full name for her vet papers). I think he has made a good choice too (I liked that we got him away from the Nike, Echo idea. I have tried to attach a photo of Dottie so you can see her Thanks for the help!

Ah, she's very cute! Dorothy nn Dottie is a wonderful vintage name. I like the Wizard of Oz connection. Tell your brother that he chose her name well.
    All the best,
    Mischa.
