Joely is a feminization of Joel.

Joel is Hebrew meaning "Jehovah is the Lord".

It isn't the same as Jolie. Jolie is far prettier.

I actually really like it! (I'd never really thought about it before). I love Joel as well. I think its one of those names that could be worn by anyone, so no "expectations." I don't like Jolie; Angelina Jolie is too well-known and all anyone would think about is her when they hear the name. But since the pronunciation is different, I don't think Joely would have any problems with the celebrity connotation.

I'd expect a Joely to get her name mispronounced constantly. I've seen it as being like Jolie a few times on the internet but I always end up saying it as joel-ee anyways.
