Perhaps he could be persuaded into using it as a middle name?"Adopting one child won’t change the world: but for that child, the world will change." -- unknown

I saw your other post but didn't have time to reply. You guys have quite a challenge! My sympathies... my hubby and I are like this, but on girls names and in reverse roles -- I pick Azalea and he picks Lucy!
From this list, I like Woodrow but Woody was kind of killing it for me, too, so I'm not surprised your husband nixed it...but I LOVE Winston. Love it, love it, and I'd be tickled pink to meet a little Winston.
Vitto reminds me of Viggo. Could both of you possibly get behind that one?
Maybe Cliff could be a nn...for Cliffton or Heathcliff?
I also can't help but wonder if Atticus might appeal to both of you. It has that Romanesque "us" ending as well as a totally classic American use in TKAM.
A few other ideas that might make for good compromise territory:
Rhett (he's manly but romantic, a similar but stronger replacement for Beau IMO)
Caspian (Cassius + Robin)
Peregrine (instead of Beauregard; gives you classic nn Perry and your hubby gets an unusual name; he can pick from pilgrims, hobbits, saints, and falcons as associations for this one)
Leonidas nn Leon (Leon seems VERY 1950's suave to me while Leonidas seems stylistically appealing to your man)
Leopold/Leonardo nn Leo (for another twist on this variation; Leo is also very smooth, and these two ideas are softer than Leonidas)
Desmond (mix of strong and soft sounds)
Quentin (this one seems classic but unusual to me)
Remington nn Remy (soft but preppy, adventurous and mysterious i.e. Remington Steele, and a bit edgy i.e. the gun)
Okay that's all I've got for now. Hope you like something here!

Thank you for the response @saracita00!
Viggo is an interesting suggestion since I have a mad crush on Viggo Mortensen...that might make it an awkward choice in my husband's eyes Vitto is actually my one pick that I thought my husband would get behind, but he isn't feeling it at all!
I love all of your L name suggestions, but my daughter is Leonie. We are avoiding L names even though I love so many- Leland, Louis...
So many great suggestions!
