I agree with previous posters -- use a legitimate 'i' name instead of mangling the spelling. Name traditions are nice, but they all end eventually. This one is particularly dated. Clearly your mother already made one exception. Why don't you use an 'ie' too, since it's now within the purview of the tradition?

If you still want to use an i-ending name, how about Adelei?

Matilda Sailor or Faye Matilda | Sylvie Winifred or Simon Atlas | Atlas Dov or Alice Violetta | Lucien Wilde or Lucinda Jane | Jane Lucinda or Jack Mariner | Marlowe Charles or Roscoe Thomas | Charles ' Charlie' Wallace or Marigold 'Maggie' Wynn | Eloise Lily or Elliot Darwin | Iris Cordelia or Thea Marina | Jasper Augustus or Juniper 'June' Lovelace | Julian Felix or Judah 'Jude' Reeve

Just a grad student dreaming ahead...

    Sophi
    Cassi
    Becki
    Betti
    Betsi
    Audri
Eleni - my personal preference would be to choose names like this, that are normally spelt with a final I

If ie names are good because of Annie, then maybe something like
    Sophie
    Amelie
    Marie
    Sadie

If all it needs is to end in that -ee sound then that frees up things like
    Cecily
    Verity
    Chloe

Eleni is a great choice. I have a beautiful, stylish greek friend by that name. It's the Greek form of Helen (Think Helen of Troy).

Other names I like are Luci, Clairi, Sylvie (Sylvi looks a bit funny), Jaci, or Lindsi.
    Names I enjoy:

    Girls: Lucy, Elena, Lake, Sylvie

    Boys: Jack, Eamon, Sylvan, Theo

Please don't mangle the spelling just to fit your "ending in i" criteria. Use a spelling that people will at least be familiar with.
