Ooh when I read "Vanessa Ruby" it really jumped out at me as being totally gorgeous. I agree that keeping it short would be best. Maybe Vanessa Jane or Vanessa Jaine, Vanessa Rose, Vanessa Claire, Vanessa Joy, Vanessa June. Something that is one or two syllables and doesn't end in A.

I love the name Vanessa. It's got a little bit of spunk to it, but it's also very feminine and sweet. The nn Nessa is so cute! I love it.

An old acquaintance of mine named his daughter Vanessa around 2 years ago now. At first I was a tad shocked, because other than her, I do not know a single Vanessa under the age of 25, so I thought it was really really dated, but as so many others have said, it still feels fresh! I actually really like it on her now!

I like Vanessa. It had a spike in the 70s, I think, but it is still a classic. I think of Vanessa Redgrave.
