    Calico for a boy?

Does it work for a boy? My husband and I both like it but keeps cropping up as a girls name though have seen it in some unisex lists.

Honestly, all I can think of is it's a coloring for cats; one that also happens to only turn up in female cats, so I'd veto it for a boy.

Calico would be a cute family nickname for Calvin, but I can't see it being a good name for a grown man.

I kinda agree with this. It's a cool idea and would be cute on a little boy, and I guess Cal would be an option, but I just can't imagine a 50 year old man introducing himself as Calico--especially in a professional setting.

I feel a bit silly about it because it doesn't have much of a precedence on either gender, but something about the sound of Calico feels very feminine to me. Maybe Callaway, Inigo, Cassio, or Jericho?
