    Newly found family names

After an interesting conversation with my mother-in-law, I started researching DH's family. Aside from having family in the US before 1700, both Dutch and English, and being related to George Washington - his mother's sister is a x-times great-grandmother - I found these names along with a zillion Johns, Williams, Jameses and a few generations of Jesses.

    Male:
    Hendrick
    Johannes
Chapel - I kind of think this is cool
    Neri - ?
    Philomon
    Sussex
    Orrin
    Irwin
    Cecil
    Perry
    Aubrey
    Franklin
    Benjamin Franklin (first and middle)
    George Washington (first and middle)
Lee Howard - there were a couple of these, they are both family surnames from Virgina.

    Female:
    Sadina
    Mabelie
Xoa ? Has anyone ever heard this one? MIL said it was pronounced Ex-oh-ah, this was her mother's name. I only knew her as Marie.
    Minerva
    Cora Bell
    Lovinia
    Effie Jane (3 generations!)
    Million -!
    Magdalena
    Charity
    Rosa Lee

What a great list! I wish mine was that interesting.

Hendrick, Philomon, Sussex, and Franklin are great!

Of the female list, I love Sadina, Minerva, Lovinia, and Effie. (I wonder what it is short for, if anything?)

Lots of great names here-- family history is so interesting! Irwin stood out on the male names because that's a family name in my family (we had a Lavinia Irwin which is close to Lovinia in your line). Minerva is my favorite female name (love it with the nn Min or Minnie too).

    Hendrick - cool one
Chapel - I like that too! very neat
Philomon - Philemon is a book of the Bible. Interesting one!

Sadina - interesting, not that I like "sad" but Sadie would be a great nn
Mabelie - that just sounds like a nn for Mabel
Xoa - weird! never heard of it. I've met a Xia before but she pronounced it z'eye'-uh (zy-uh)
    Minerva - great one
    Cora Bell - beautiful!
Lovinia - interesting swap. I've heard Lavinia and Livinia but never Lovinia.
Million - wow, that's an interesting one!
    Livy/Lucy : Geneva/Gwen : Coralie/Alice : Noelle/Eve
    Eli/Bennett : Jude/Zane: Luke/Leo : Levi/Phineas
