    Sib for Sully

    Hi!

We're trying to come up with a name for Sullivan's brother or sister and are struggling to find something we like as much as Sully's name. Anyone have any fresh ideas? Here are some names we have tossed around.

    Boys:
Hollis (Ollie-we love but is this to close to Sully? Other nn ideas?)

Dashiell (love Dash but half-hearted about the full name)

Fox(like this but the last name is
Tanner and might sound too much like an occupation!)

    Girls:

    Fiona (love but too popular?)

    Amelie (we're not French-is that
    strange?)

    Thanks for any ideas!

Hollis is one of my favourites. I like the idea of Ollie as a nn, and unless you were going to use it exclusively (with Hollis just being the fn on birth certificate, official, etc.) then no I don't think it's too close to Sully.

For girls I like Fiona more than Amelie. While Fiona is on the rise, I don't think it's too popular and I doubt it will ever be as popular as Emma or Isabella.

I think Fiona goes well with the Celtic Sullivan but I think Amelie sounds better with your surname Tanner (Fiona Tanner is heavy on the n's). I like Hollis but it's a little matchy with Sullivan. Sorry to say but Fox Tanner or Dash Tanner would sound like a cartoon characters. I would avoid word or occupations for first names. Here are some suggestions for siblings.

    Thank you for your thoughts!
Agreed, name/occupations won't work with our surname. I am still holding onto Hollis but you're probably right about being too matchy.

Of these lists I really like Darby and Rhys for boys.

Some other girl names I like are Maren, Marian and Mallory. Thoughts?

I prefer Rhys but Darby also goes well with Sullivan. Darby and Sullivan are the names of Patrick Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy's twins, btw.

I like Mallory, Maren and Marian seem to rhyme a bit too much with the ending of Suillivan, imho.
