Befuddled & Bemused. Boys Round 2
I'm not befuddled & bemused on the boys names anymore, but I kept the title for anyone wanting to follow the process! (I should have put this title on the girls thread!) We're up to considering combos here. Our "rule" is that one name in the combo has to be "normal." Some of our kids have one middle and others have two, so either way works, and if there is a family name in the combo, all the better. Surname is a common, two-syllable occupation name beginning with T.
Here's what we have on our list, I'd love to see combos for each if anyone is so inclined:
Ragnar (I'm partly Norwegian and I've been dying to use a Scandinavian name)
Roderick, nn Rook (we're not really seeing just Rook as a proper name though)
Family middles usually get priority with us and these are the ones I have in mind for this time:
Ethan (my dad's name! It has been waiting forever for us to use a first that doesn't end in N!)
Wade (a great-grandfather who had amazing adventures with Native Americans and Governor Clark -- of Lewis & Clark fame)
Other middles which have some kind of significance:
Quinn (means 5th!)
Quincy (another means 5th!)
any combination with initials R.L., but not really a priority
And a few I just like that will never win first place:
Classic/common names we've already used or don't want to duplicate with extended family: Jacob, James, Jonathan, Joshua, Jared, Andrew, Peter, Eric, Aaron, Wesley, Ryan, Everett, Oliver, Isaac. Otherwise you're welcome to fill in with just about anything that doesn't have a terrible meaning.
Have fun and thanks! I love seeing what the creative people around here come up with!

I love Rook. <3 I'll try to find you an 'ook' middle name down the list. Being honest, I sort of agree with the pp. I like Rook way better on it's own than Ragnar, but I know you love it. I sort of prefer Roderick nn Rook (or Rook by itself) with the other kids, but again, I know you love it. ^_^
I'm just doing one middle right now. I like:
Ragnar Amadeus *
Ragnar Leonidas (thought I feel this is too much for you guys, it's awesome)
For an ook sound:

Started my NaNoWriMo novel - Kith nor Kin -- read it here if you'd like and feel free to comment -- http://kithnorkin.wordpress.com/ Chapter 19 is up -- Warning! It's pretty gruesome.

Ragner Luke would give you the R.L. initials and sorta give you the -ook sound too. If you want two middles I like Ragner Lucas Wade or Ragner Ethan Luke. My other suggestion is Ragner Clark or Ragner Ethan Clark. It connects to the great grandfather via the Lewis and Clark connection plus the -k ending helps with the nn Rook.
From your list I like both Ragner Wade and Ragner Ethan. Ragner Quinn would be cool just because of the meaning and If you want a family name in there I really like Ragner Ethan Quinn.
I also second Dantea's suggestion of Ragner Lewis, gives you the R.L. initials and connects to gg Wade. Ragner Lewis Quinn would also be awesome.Top Girl names:
