How can i convince my friend not to name her baby Artemis??

I don't want to be too harsh and say 'your daughter is going to hate it and be really embarassed of you!'

Why would her daughter hate her name? Artemis is fabulous. Gorgeous name, amazing namesake.

Most people in real life would probably think it's too odd. Personally i do like some names that i wouldn't dare use- like Arpad.

I'd be really careful expressing disapproval to a real-life person. If she loves Artemis, she'll probably use it no matter what you say, and honestly, that's how it should be. If you're going to say anything, and I don't think you should, make sure to be extremely tactful about it.

And I agree with Ottilie-- it's an awesome name/namesake. Personally I'd much rather meet a baby Artemis than another baby Ava.
