I think they are too similar. I picture two girls on the playground, and you call one of them, and they look at each other: "did she say Luciana or Lilyana?"
Also, I don't know if you plan to have more, but it would make naming future daughters more complicated IMO.
BUT if it's the one you truly love, I guarantee you can make it work.
Lucelia is a cute alternative!~ Larissa

I guess if you call them Lily/Lila and Lou/Lulu/Sia it should be fine.
The distinct nicknames will ultimately make the pairing.
What about Delilah? .... I think it's pretty similar to Luciana and Lilyana.
All the other Lucy names have already been suggested.
A valid point was brought up though... What would you name the third?
It would be hard to start the L trend and not continue it.
If it really comes down to it and you both have distinct tastes... let one choose the first name and the other the middle name (even if they don't pair that well together... and when she gets older she can decide which name she likes better.
It's not that uncommon for someone to (at least go through a phase) where they dislike their first name. She'll have other options.

They are very similar, but honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal, especially if they go by Lucy and Lily. You'd want another L--ana name for another potential girl if that's a possibility and you'd prefer matching sibsets, but those are in abundance so it's not really a worry.
I think it's adorable, personally; I wouldn't do it, but it's cute.I'm not feeling incredibly profound at the moment. Check back later.
