I don't have many new suggestions but I would like to second some that are already given

    Sylvia, Josephine, and ......

    Edith "Edie"
    Rosamund "Rosie"
    Winifred "Winnie"

    Eleanor "Nora" "Elle" "Ella"
    Evelyn "Eve" "Evie"
    Marion "Mari"
    Penelope "Penny"
    Vivienne "Vivi"
    Wilhelmina "Willa, Willy, Minnie, Mina"

I would also avoid a masculine nickname.
Sara Beth Cook wife to Ross Allen Cook 03.11.06
Mama to Lilla Clare 12.05.09 and Vivienne Grace 03.16.12
    Sylvie | Rosalie | Cecily | Eleanor | Rufus | Jasper | Graham

    Evangeline nn Angie/Evie
    Genevieve nn Ginny/Evie
    Ariel nn Ari
    Adelaide nn Addy
    Rosalind nn Rosie/Lindy

I think Adelaide would be cutest with Sylvia and Josephine!

Yeah, I don't like the whole boyish nickname. I LOVE Sylivia and Josephine! How about:

    Corinne/Corinna
    Clara
    Eliza
    Rose
    Kathleen
    Miriam
    Lydia
    Margaret

I wouldn't choose a name purely for a boyish nickname, but here are some ideas. Sorry for repeats:

    Eleanora/Leonora nn Leo
    Victoria nn Vic
    Danielle nn Dani
    Winifred nn Fred, Freddy
    Cecilia/Cecily nn Cecil
    Theodosia/Theodora nn Theo
    Louisa/Louise/Eloise nn Lou
    Francesca nn Frankie
    Wilhelmina nn Will
    Georgia nn Georgie
    Philomena nn Phil
    Thomasina nn Thom, Thomas
    Dominica nn Dom, Dominic, Nick
    Marcella nn Mace, Marcel
    Leandra nn Lee
    Antonina nn Toni/Tony, Antony
    Matilda nn Matt, Mattie
    Julia/Juliana/Juliet nn Jules
    Jemima nn Jamie
    Aurora nn Rory
    Jacqueline nn Jack
    Rebecca nn Beck
    Valerie/Valeria nn Val
    Carlotta nn Carl

You could also just choose a name similar to your style that could be used for a boy:
    August
    Basil
    Francis/Frances
    Garnett/Garnet
    Jules
    Carmine
    Antoine
    Blaise
    Clemens/Clemence

Wow, harsh. Although you obviously have strong feelings on the matter your response taints my image of this website which I always viewed as an open an welcoming place to share ideas.
Not that I feel the need to further justify our idea but my husband and I refer to our girls often as Syl and Jo. So they are already masculine in nature. I view every child as a gift and joy and I feel bad that you feel it is ok to belittle other people's choices. Maybe you should take into account if you don't have anything nice to say than don't say anything at all.
