I like Alex, but would prefer it as a nickname to a "fuller" name, such as Alexander. Jason just seems really dated to me (as I know about 4 of them in their early 30's).

I like Alex, but why not have Alexander as his full name, w/ the nickname Alex?

I feel Alexander spelling is too long

I like Alex. I have a coworker whose full name is just Alex. Apparently his mother was worried Alexander would be too difficult for him to spell, so they just went with Alex. I prefer Alexander, but it can work with just Alex as well. The only downside for me is the popularity. I'd personally use it as a middle name only for this reason. I like this name over Jason.

Jason is my cousin's name, he's in his late 20s. I like his name, but I never felt like it was anything special. Just kind of so, so and plain to me.
