    Don't know if you know British TV at all, but there is an actress named Hermione Norris (Spooks/MI-5 and Wire In the Blood) who has a son named Wilf.

    It sounds a bit too much like "Woof!" to me, but I could easily get over it.

    I agree that it would work much better as a nn for Wilson or William than as a stand alone name. Also, I immediately thought of MILF too.

    Thanks everyone! Honestly the MILF connection never occurred to me but I can see why that would be a concern! I do like the idea of using it as a nickname for Wilson/William! That way he can use Will too if he prefers it. Im in loveee with the NN Sonny so that way he can also have the NN Sonny with Wilson and I get literally all of my favourite nicknames in one name.. (Wilf, Sonny, Will..) bonus!
