Otter is adorable. ^_^ How about Ottar -- Sounds like Otter, but it's Norwegian and means "fright warrior"
Sorry for repeats:
Aristotle -- I think it's awesome but might be too much for you
Lancelot -- again, cool, but maybe too much for you
Patriot -- if you're into word names
Potter -- again, if you like word games
Quixote -- Love the literary connection, but again might be too much for you
I think these could work too:
I think some names with the AU (ah) sounds could work
Auboran/Oberon -- I just thing it has good enough sounds to make Otter work
