    Yes, Noora is my real name. It's Arabic for light and very popular in the Middle East. My dad is Syrian. Noura and Nura are alternate transliterations. Noora is the feminine form, but Noor/Nur/Nour is unisex. I think Noor is more familiar in the western world than Noora because of Queen Noor of Jordan. I like them both. Noora works well in the US because its similar to Nora, just with an oooh. I've always thanked my parents for my name.
