Favorites (random order):
Beatrice - Love. The Much Ado character is one of my favorites.
Ophelia - The character is just so-so, but such a gorgeous name.
Phoebe - Sounds utterly likeable. Yeah, I'm picking all the Shakespeare ones.
Sylvia - Distinctive yet familiar-- perfectly in the sweet spot.
Viola - My all-time favorite name ever, also in the sweet spot.
Also, I am a staunch defender of the lovely Pandora (see my recent post in the thread discussing it) and I think you should ignore what everyone says and use it if you like it. I also kind of like Demelza-- maybe put it in the middle spot?
Least favorites (also random order):
Tabitha - not sure why exactly I hate it, I just do.
Astrid - Even if the first syllable isn't a problem for you, the "trid" is just such an ugly sound.
Megan - Makes me think of meanness, despite the fact that one of my closest, nicest friends is named Megan.
Hannah - Boring. I know it's a classic, but it feels so comparatively blah.
tie between Evelyn and Hester - both because I don't like the sound. I'd pick Hannah before either of these, actually.Gwen: Film student, bookworm, and bad influence.

Tamsin- I'm not a huge fan of this one but I love the similar Tammin
Hester-makes me think of the scarlet letter
Ophelia- too stuffy
Pandora- jewelry or radio
I tend to prefer more traditional names. The names on my least favorite list that don't have a comment sound made up to me. I don't even know how to pronounce them.
