It feels like a smoosh to me as well. It's like it's trying to hit a lot of different notes at the same time, but the result is kind of unsatisfying or incomplete in some way.
I could see something like this conversation happening in regards to this name: "What's your name?" "Emerett." "Emmet?" "No, it's Emerett." "Everett?" "No...*sigh*"
Not that this is the worst thing in the world. Though it can get a little maddening--take it from a Tawny who's been called Tammy and Tanya possibly more times than I've been called by my actual name. And Tawny isn't even a smoosh!human children:
