I did a Google search and got several hits for Emerett. Apparently it's a rare surname, so it's legitimate.

I'll disagree with everyone else. Emerett doesn't stand out at all. It blends in with all of the Everett, Emmett, and Emerson's but looks kind of tacky because it's made up and trying to look cool.

People will always think an Emerett is saying that his name is Emmett.

It reminds me too much of the United Arab Emirates and their airline

It feels too much like a made up smoosh to me. I'd be worried about having to frequently correct others, and people confusing the name with Everett or Emerson.

It feels like a smoosh to me as well. It's like it's trying to hit a lot of different notes at the same time, but the result is kind of unsatisfying or incomplete in some way.

I could see something like this conversation happening in regards to this name: "What's your name?" "Emerett." "Emmet?" "No, it's Emerett." "Everett?" "No...*sigh*"

Not that this is the worst thing in the world. Though it can get a little maddening--take it from a Tawny who's been called Tammy and Tanya possibly more times than I've been called by my actual name. And Tawny isn't even a smoosh!
